top brands

There are more than 50 companies that sell gas furnaces in addition to other HVAC equipment. Below are the top brands. Choosing from all these brands can really be a challenge. We have installed most every brand listed so if you want our guidance, we usually recommend "York". The reason is simple, fewest callbacks even after several years in service! Of course we are happy to install the customer's preference. Each line below is from the same (parent) company:

  • Carrier, Bryant, Payne and Tempstar (Carrier)
  • Lennox, Ducane and Armstrong (Lennox)
  • Rheem and Ruud (Rheem)
  • Goodman, Amana and Janitrol (Goodman)
  • York, Coleman and Luxaire (York)
  • Maytag, Westinghouse, Frigidaire and Kelvinator (Maytag)
  • Trane and American Standard (Trane)

How much does a new furnace cost?

Most HVAC contractors are reluctant to quote pricing up front without coming out to do a formal bid and we require that also, however most of the time the square footage dictates the size and cost of the job. After being in the trade nearly 30 years, the price doesn't deviate much from the tables below. Realizing that there can always be a special circumstance. The prices below are the total job including equipment and installation based on a 95.5% efficiency rating. Note: For a NEW AC unit to be installed, (not simply a replacement) it will require a licensed electrician who we can recommend but is not part of the pricing below.

Home Size Typical Price
1500 sq ft $3,450
2000 sq ft $3,750
2500 sq ft $4,050

york furnaceI have a 24 year old home with a furnace that was costing a fortune to run and breaking down annually. It was time to upgrade. I did what most do and got 3 estimates. They were all over the place and all higher than what I thought was reasonable for a 2,000 sq ft home. I noticed my neighbor across the street was getting his furnace replaced. I went over and asked how much. It was 25% lower than my lowest bid.

Denis Duchesne was the supplier and installer. My neighbor got his name from a friend who had his replaced. Denis gave me great advice, a fantastic new "York" Furnace, 95.5% effecient, professional installation and the Inspector here in Broomfield County gladly signed off on the inspection adding that he wished all the furnaces he inspected were installed with this attention to detail. Cannot begin to say how pleased we are. My installation was September, 2016 and since then my gas bill has dropped almost 50%. This furnace will eventually pay for itself! Our house is so much more comfortable now. Call Denis, he's a straight shooter.

Denis did a complete and thorough estimate, explaining the various furnaces and air conditioners, recommending one that was both efficient and affordable for us. Installation was scheduled in a prompt and timely manner. Denis and Kelly arrived at the scheduled time and worked all day until the installation was complete. They tested the systems and explained how to use and program the new thermostat. They also removed the old systems and cleaned up thoroughly. They were very friendly and professional. The city inspector came a week later and everything passed without any problems. I would not hesitate to recommend Denis and company to my friends and family. The air conditioner and furnace are very quiet and efficient!

My furnace completely went out during a very cold week here in Colorado. I called a very reputable company to come out and take a look. The furnace tech said the furnace was beyond repair and proceeded to hand me a quote to replace both the furnace and central air conditioner for a whopping $17,000. We don't exaxctly have that kind of money laying around so went online and found Front Range Furnace. Denis Duchesne came out to the house. He did some diagnostics on the furnace and discovered the problem. Within 30 minutes we had heat again. Denis also agreed the furnace was reaching end of life but to give us a little time to prepare was fantasitc and Denis gave us a bid for the same job for $9,000. Can't say enough for Denis's honesty.
